Founded by Devon-based copywriter Poppy Hamilton, Near & Known began with a soft spot for local discovery. The guide explores Devon, including Plymouth and Torbay, town by town and village by village.

We look for character, care and a reason to make the trip. The guide is a growing selection, rather than an exhaustive directory of every business in Devon.
Clear about our stories
Our launch discoveries are researched from venues’ own websites and credited photography. They are not first-hand reviews or paid partnerships. Paid collaborations will be clearly labelled “Advertisement feature”.
Practical little details
Each place links to its own website so you can check opening times, current menus, accessibility and booking details. These can change, and the venue is always the best source before you set out.
