Privacy policy
Near & Known is a trading name of Creative Co Design Studio Ltd. This page explains how we use information shared through this guide. Updated 24 October 2026.
What you share with us
Our contact and feature forms collect your name, email and the details you enter, such as your business name, town, county or local area, website and message. The insider-list form collects your email address and your express newsletter opt-in. Form submissions include their submission time.
How we use it
We use enquiry information to respond, discuss possible features and keep necessary business records. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. If you separately opt in to the insider list, we use your email to send Near & Known updates about Devon discoveries and the guide. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, or using the unsubscribe link in an email.
Forms and service providers
Our forms are processed through Formspree, which receives the details you submit and provides them to us. Website hosting providers also process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site. We do not sell personal information. Providers may process data outside the UK; their own privacy information explains their processing and safeguards. See Formspree’s privacy policy.
Optional Instagram content
Place pages offer Instagram content that loads only after you select “Load Instagram”. At that point, your browser connects to Meta, which may receive your IP address, browser information and the page you are visiting, and may use cookies under its own policies. You can instead use the profile link without loading an embed on our page. See Instagram’s privacy policy. Your choice to load an embed is not saved as a preference for future visits.
Location maps
The Devon boundary is served by this website. When an interactive map comes into view, your browser requests street-map tiles from OpenFreeMap and shares technical information including your IP address, browser information and referring site. The requested tiles correspond to the area you are viewing. The town, radius and pin you choose are used in the current page only; we do not save them as a location profile or request your device’s location. Street map and directions links take you to OpenStreetMap or Google Maps, where those providers’ privacy policies apply.
Optional itinerary planner
When you submit a postcode, your browser sends it to Postcodes.io for lookup. When you request a driving route, the selected coordinates are sent to the FOSSGIS routing service, which logs route requests. These providers receive technical information such as your IP address. See Postcodes.io service information and FOSSGIS routing privacy information. Selected stops stay in the current page. When you open your route, the chosen start, finish and stop addresses are shared with Google Maps, where Google’s privacy policy applies. We do not store your itinerary or request your device location.
Your saved places
Saved favourites are stored in your own browser. They are not an account and do not sync across devices. You can remove a saved place using its heart button, or remove all saved information through your browser’s site-data settings.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and manage the relevant business relationship, and records for any applicable business obligations. Newsletter details are kept while you remain opted in. We may retain a minimal suppression record to respect an unsubscribe request.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or to raise an objection to its use. Email hello@poppyhamilton.com. You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
