Maison et Vie brings a more expressive kind of browsing to a Brixham day out. Owners Andrea Carless and Jamie James come from fashion, design and creative backgrounds, and their boutique favours smaller labels with a story behind them. The range moves between patterned clothing, sculptural jewellery, fragrance and objects for home, so it works equally well for finding an outfit or a thoughtful present. Give yourself time to look beyond the first rail: an interesting scent or an unexpected accessory may be the thing you leave with. Its current home is at number 24 Middle Street, making it an easy stop between coffee and the rest of the street’s independent shops.
