A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
A little beach worth the walk
A tucked-away sandy cove reached on foot, with rocky edges, a stream and open coastal scenery.
Soar Mill Cove has the appeal of somewhere you arrive at gradually. The walk brings you down through open coastal scenery before the beach appears between the headlands. At lower tide, there is more sand for a picnic or a slow wander among the rocks.
It is a good choice when the journey is part of the day. The National Trust route from Bolberry Down makes a longer outing of it, passing cliff-top scenery before descending into the valley. A shorter approach is also possible from the hotel side, but the beach still involves walking and a climb back.
Pack what you need and allow time for the return. There are no facilities on the sand, and the tide changes how much beach is available. This is a coastal walking destination to plan around conditions.
