A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
A tucked-away supper worth finding
An intimate restaurant in a converted garage, with a changing tasting menu, chef’s counter and a love of good music.
Verse is the sort of address you could pass without realising what is tucked inside. Set in a converted garage off Lower Union Road, it opens into an intimate room of dark panelling, music artwork and carefully set tables. Chef-owner Paul Hegley brings experience from Gara Rock to a restaurant centred on food, music and an evening spent together. The main dining experience follows a changing tasting menu; the small chef’s counter offers another way to settle into the cooking. It is a place to make the evening’s plan around, rather than squeeze between other stops. Arrive for a drink, put the day’s shopping down and let supper take its time. Check the current menu and booking format before choosing a date, especially when a themed evening is listed.
