A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
Small makers, lovely finds and a reason to browse
A not-for-profit Gandy Street shop bringing together jewellery, prints, cards and handmade pieces from South West makers.
Maker Mart is a lovely place to turn an ordinary shopping trip into a small discovery. The independent, not-for-profit shop gathers work from more than 130 makers, with a changing mix of jewellery, prints, cards and decorative pieces. Look closely and the shelves become a snapshot of creative work happening across the South West, from a tiny gift to something that earns a permanent place at home. Sales also help support Exeter Phoenix, connecting the shop to the arts venue just around the corner. Its autumn workshop programme offers another way to get involved: browse for inspiration, then book a session and try making something yourself. Leave time to look slowly; the appeal lies in the individual details.
