A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
Find your fragrance. Make an afternoon of it.
A Fore Street fragrance shop with bookable candle workshops and scents inspired by the South Devon coast.
There is something especially fitting about finding a holiday keepsake by its scent. The Salcombe Candle Company began in a home kitchen, inspired by candles that captured the character of places visited in Australia. That idea now lives on Fore Street, with locally named fragrances sitting alongside a wider collection of candles, diffusers and home fragrance. A browse fits easily into an afternoon wandering around town; booking a workshop turns the stop into a proper activity. Over two hours, participants choose fragrances and make two small candles, with refreshments along the way. It is a lovely option for a catch-up with friends or a creative break between beach days. Leave room in the plan for collection later, though: freshly made candles need time to set before they can travel home.
