A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
Old sails, new adventures on Topsham Quay
Handmade bags and home accessories from recycled sailcloth, made in a working quayside studio.
Sails & Canvas makes sense beside the water: retired sails arrive with a past life and leave as bags, storage pieces and other useful objects. Friends Juliette and Mandi began the business in a Topsham sail loft in 2015, and the studio still gives the collection its coastal roots. Original stitching, metal eyelets and sail numbers become part of the design, so the small variations are something to look for. The range moves from generous beach bags to wash bags and personalised presents. This is a working maker’s address, so contact the team before making a special trip to confirm visiting arrangements. Arrange a visit around a slow wander along the quay and take home a piece with its own story.
