A PLACE WORTH KNOWING
Lunch in a light-filled old coaching inn
A glazed courtyard, seasonal Devon cooking and an on-site fishmonger make this Topsham inn an appealing place to stretch lunch into an afternoon.
Behind the old coaching-inn frontage, the Salutation’s GlassHouse turns a courtyard into a light-filled place to eat. The Williams-Hawkes family restored the building, keeping its Topsham character while making room for a restaurant, bedrooms and SALT, the fishmonger and deli. Come for breakfast, a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea, with menus that follow Devon produce and the coast. Seafood has a natural place here, supplied through the inn’s own fish counter. Topsham station is a short walk away, so it is easy to build a visit around wandering the town. Reserve for the meal you have in mind.
